Dyschromatopsia

Children with dyschromatopsia do not fully perceive colors, red, green or cyan. Usually, they perceive colors of unequal brightness. Dyschromatopsia mainly pertains to men (8% of the male population) and less to women (0.5% of the female population), and heredity is observed.

However, certain conditions of the ocular system can cause decreased color perception, such as optic nerve damage, macular degeneration, etc.
